For this group show curated by Sarah Rose I presented a small retrospective of all the Mossy works I have created over the past few years. I included three of the original Finnish Mossys, three new Clovelly Mossys, the large sit-able Auburn Mossys and three new velvet Mossys from Orange.
Shifting Terrain: Photographic Hybrids interrogates the dissolution of photographic medium specificity, presenting works by Sydney-based artists Mia Carey, Criena Court, Grace Kingston and Valentina Schulte. Navigating the intersections between topography, place and photography in the age of the Anthropocene, it is clear that the terrain has shifted, transformed, and mutated. As the Earth shivers and shakes in this constant state of flux and human dominance, these artists explore the use of hybridised photo-sculptures to investigate the loss of organic equilibria, and our imperative need to reconnect to our landscape.
